Pure Silver Jewellery - Precious Metal Clay
This is a great beginners class ideal for complete beginners, so no previous experience necessary. A fun and relaxing day with plenty of time to experiment and be creative.
We look at how to plan a design, then the basic techniques of rolling and shaping the clay.
This workshop is an introduction to PMC -PURE SILVER so we will be making two to three pieces of jewellery, flat items like pendants, earrings, tags only. Not rings as you need to have had some experience with silver clay for this task.
PMC is Precious Metal Clay - PURE SILVER. This material was created by the Mitsubishi in the early 1990s as a way to recycle silver, gold, and platinum. PMC is dried and then Fired in a kiln. When the binder is burned away during firing, it leaves a pendant of 99.9% pure silver.
It's nice to know that PMC is made with sustainable/recycled materials.
